AFCN members had a great time at RuralTeleCon'04 in Spokane, Washington.
Board members and Advisors officiated two panel sessions: Community Networking in Rural Context and a clinic-workshop where we helped CN organizers address practical issues. The AFCN sponsored one conference attendee through a competition held during the summer, and we've made up the difference by getting him to become a board member.
AFCN members continue to work with Peter Miller, CTCNet, and other interested parties to publish two joint newsletters per year as the CTCNet members have many complementary and common interests with AFCN members, as technology centers are an integral part of virtually all community networks. The winter 2004 issue is jam-packed with useful information.
AFCN Conferences
Open Space Austin: The AFCN will convene the 7th Annual Community Networking Conference in Austin, April 28-30, 2005, in partnership with leading organizations in several sectors of Community ICT.
Visit the AFCN Conference page for more information about AFCN conferences. If you know of a community technology or "digital divide" conference in your area, contact an AFCN board member about representing the AFCN at the meeting.
